1 Cor 6:9, the church and clobber verses

1 cor 6:1 when one of you has grievance against another, does he dare go to the law before the unrighteous instead of the saints?

1 cor 6:9 know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicator, no idolaters, nor adulteror, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortion ers, shall inherit the kingdom of God

Over the last 500 years, the church has used 1 Cor 6:9 to condemn gays when it is actually condemning the kingdom of this world entering the church with all the occultic faith practices. The church is supposed to be synonymous to the kingdom of God.

On a strict interpretation of 1 Cor 6:1 to 10, none will inherit the kingdom of God. For example many mega churches and tele evangelist have been milking the sheep dry and living in high luxury which is clearly against 1 Cor 6:9 of not stealing. Surely many clergy and church members have been drunk before. So there is a deeper meaning not obvious to the modern reader of the Corinthians context. For Paul himself was hauled up to the Bema seat at Corinth in Acts 18:12 by the religious Jewish zealots for preaching the Gospel Good News. The irony of it all was that the church is now hauled up the judgement at the Bema not for the Gospel but unrighteousness.

What was the Corinthians famous for? Aphrodite. There was a massive temple of Aphrodite at Acrocorinth. The city has a large population of Greeks, Jews and Romans bringing their own kingdom gods to the church and defiling it.

A closer look at the original Greek of 1 Cor 1:9 showed how misguided modern English translators had been, by taking the literal meaning without any consideration of the historical social and religious context. The verses have only a few keywords:-

{pornoi} sexually immoral. They were the eager participants in mass sex orgies at Aphrodite temple.

{eidololatrai} idolators. These were faith worshipers of Apollo, Poseidon, Cybele and Aphrodite.

{arsenokoites} abusers of themselves? These are Cybele worshippers who were willing to have anal sex with other men in the act of faith worship to join themselves with the demonic entities.

{malakoi} effeminate. The Cybele priests who had castrated themselves to become women so that the straight people of faith would penetrate them.,

{harpages} swindlers. {loidoroi} verbal abusers, {kleptai} thieves, {pleonektai} coveters, {methysoi} drunkards. The first group of people that would not go to heaven if taken in general and not in context would be the Televangelists and many mega church pastor. Yet, Paul was referring to a specific group of people, his nearby Synogue who appears holy but are actually lawless. They would be the wear white gate keepers, keeper of the law but the greatest sinners against the commandments. In my many years in the church, nobody preached about the last few sins after they had bashed up gays as the greatest sinners.

Paul was not referring to gays as interpreted by the bible translators. It was all about straight people of faith actively engaging in their faith practices which Paul was criticising as unrighteous and not of the Kingdom of God. Unrighteousness was being unclean and defiled spiritually and morally through pagan activities. It was not padestry of boys because they were very sexually active women in the temple of Aphrodite.

The context of 1 Cor was the Greek mystery religions and their speaking in tongues, Cybele Attis cult and Dionysian cult, the cult of Isis, cult of Mithras. There was even a festival of Cybele-Attis introduced by Emperor Claudius. The third was the temple of Apollo and Poseidon . The women were the prostitutes, the men were were the faith worshippers of these cults. Hence, their different roles mentioned in 1 Cor 6:9.

So who were the unrighteous ones who would not enter the kingdom of God, mentioned by Paul? The unrighteous was referring to the people of faith from the outside world with their occultic/pagan faiths who had entered the church. The were not of the Kingdom of God. When we refer to 1 Cor 6:9 as talking about gays, we open the backdoor for Satan to come.

It was Paul’s letter to the Corinthian Christians in AD 50, not even to the people of Corinth. It was not written to the Christians in general, and its meaning and context would have been quite lost when the bible was compiled and translated in the 16th to 18th centuries. Hence, it would not explicitly mention the different gods as not to glorify these gods/goddeses.

Paul warned the church not to let the unrighteous outside world to enter the church. And it came about 270 years later when Christianity became the state religion in Rome. The occult practices came into the churches until the gate of Hades is at the centre of the church in Rome. Ironically, the Gatekeepers in Singapore would only rise up in their anti gay outburst when referring to 1 Cor 6:9. It was never about gays but straight ancient demonic cults and heresies.

In Cor 5:9-11 Paul already wrote down a summary of all the vices, he mentioned later in 1 Cor 6:9, and the key Greek word here is “eidololatrais”. There was no mention of gays or same sex love in Corinth which was not well known in Corinth but rather straight orgies in the temples. Why the church twist the verses to apply to gays? Which is like saying the problem with the red light district is gay sex when 99.9% is straight? Because it is the church who stole, who are drunk with power, who covert the property of the poor through tithes, who verbally abused and persecute those they deemed as sinners unlike them.

The church of Jesus Christ has swindled the gay community for 500 years from anti gay law that Henry the Eight declared, because the Great Reformation which ended up in England as the last stronghold against the counter Reformation of the Jesuits was a foundation of sand, founded upon straight adultery and murderous intrigues of the English King. So we have 500 years later, the mega churches declaring their roots in Martin Luther when it was the Reformation of the Church of England founded out of utter sin of divorce, murder and adultery in 1534.

Today, the churches at Corinth is no more, invaded by the Mullahs. Jerusalem which Paul had escaped from, is also no more, for the 2nd temple was destroyed in AD70 with millions of Jews killed and deported to Europe. Judea is no more as the state was renamed Syria Palestina after the Bar Kokhba Jewish revolt in 135 AD. And yet, the churches focus is on gays.

The churches anti gay crusade for the last 500 years started by the Protestant King Henry VIII in the 16th century who founded the Anglican Church in 1534, and had earlier through the Act of Buggery in 1533, persecuted gays. In 10 years time, it will be 500 years that the straight evil king who as the head of the church tried to put all his sins upon the gay community.

When King James bible was written in 1611 it did not mention about homosexuality, but did have the clobber verses. The first bible translation was produced by John Wycliffe in 1382 to reduce the power of the pope whose proclamations was seen as the Word of God. The more widely available distribution was by William Tyndale in the 1526 which was banned because it would have reduced the power of the pope and because of this he was murdered by the church for “heresy”. The English bible was produced as part of the Reformation and for the next 500 years there has been counter Reformation to destroy the Gospel Good News message in the bible by making the church focus on a contexual error in the English translation of the bible in the clobber anti gay verses.

The judgement against the Christian churches are here. After 500 years of misinterpreting the bible and clobbering gays, the end is near. We go back to 1 Cor 6:1 where the church has become so unrighteous that it is being judged by the world yet we realised it not. The bible is no longer a best seller and most bible Christian bookshops have closed down. Look at the many empty mainline churches in the UK, Europe and the US.

Satan had offered Jesus the power over this world if Jesus had bowed down to Satan. Jesus rejected the offer, but with the passing of time, this temptation is long offered to the church. Every day, an unrighteous act is taking place at the centre of the church hierachal representing the church on earth, there is the eight sided solar wheel of life or womb being penetrated by the Egyptian/Babylonian Obelisk representing the Phalus of the Sun God Ra. The church itself is weak and powerless because it obtains its power from the fallen forces of this world. Yet, the Gatekeepers in Singapore still wear white. Unless the church change and see the real enemy, it can never conquer the kingdom of darkness, for the Kingdom of God has surely and slowly becoming the Kingdom of this world. It’s really fallen Church in an old sinful world.

The fall of the church is hapenning because her sins are too great over 1700 years and she will be judged in the public just as Paul feared, in the Berma at Corinth. She will no longer wear white.

Helmet of salvation

Eph 6:17 take the helmet of salvation…

Isa 59:17 He put on righteousness as his breastplate and the helmet of salvation on his head…

What is the greatest attack of Satan upon the Christian Church? Many evengelicals would say it is sin. The question is void for liberals who don’t believe that Satan exists. If one does not believe in his or her opponents, the battle is lost without a fight, so are most mainline church who had ceased to believe in the Gospel Good News of Jesus as the way, the life and the truth. Satan’s attack on the evangelicals are no less deadly, deceiving Christians to take off their helmet of salvation and doomed their ministries by fatal arrows to the head.

In fights, an attack to the head could be a knockout blow, some even fatal hence ending the fight. Our body may still be strong and powerful, but once the head is shot, we are dead, so are our many ministries. A church may look alive, but look carefully, it has not grown in the last two decades despite great needs and open harvest.

Believing Christians are under constant spiritual attacks, because their very existence extends the Kingdom of God through the preaching of the Gospel Good News. When a person receives Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, he or she is automatically recruited as Christian soldiers and fair game for Satan and his demonic cohorts. His aim is to destroy their ministries.

How is the battle fought? The fiery arrows of doubt and unbelief to the head? It is fought by Satan primarily through attacking not the bible per say but through a theology of replacement. The Gospel of Salvation at the Cross is replaced by love and faith itself. Instead of believing in Jesus Christ, one now only needs to align with Jesus good works or by just being people of faith regardless of the deity whom they have faith in.

The obedience to the law for the assurance of salvation replaces accepting the grace of God at Calvary. The notion of the One God of Israel is replaced by a God of many names ie different gods are considered the same. We are made to doubt our eternal salvation in Jesus Christ so that we constantly asked for forgiveness of our sins or strive to do good works so that we can be assured of salvation. These fiery darts of doubt straight from hell to the head takes away the power of the finished work of the Cross of God’s grace in Christ Jesus.

Satan’s greatest and fatal attack comes against right believing instead of right living. It is a counter Reformation against the three of the five solas, ie Sola Christus, Sola Gratia and Sola Fide.

How does the roaring lion attacks? It goes directly for the head for a quick and fatal blow. Some say Satan roar is loud but has no bite. This is not respectful of our adversary. For the lies and deception of Satan have destroyed many and the gates of Hades is near the heart of a fallen Church hierachal.

The head speaks of our mind, thinking, and words we say. In the confession of our mouth, assurance of our faith in the eternal salvation of Christ, we could only by calling on His grace alone reach heaven eternal shores:-

1. Acceptance of the God of Israel as our one and only God and our salvation, with Jesus Christ as the Son of God and risen Savior  and Satan as our adversary.

2. Protect our minds from doubting Christ as our eternal Saviour and everlasting salvation in Christ being bought by the blood once and for all which Satan will throw doubts at us even through the unbelieving churches and mainline theological colleges.

Putting the helmet of salvation, means putting on the mind of Christ and being firmly founded in the mind and thinking that Jesus Christ as our Lord, God and Saviour. Every lie and unbelief from Satan against the church will be against the name and standing of Christ at the right hand side of God in heaven because in no other name is there salvation.

Satan is not really interested in one soul only, he is interested in the impact of our ministry. If the head receives a fatal blow, and our ministry is destroyed, the impact could be many thousands of souls in the kingdom of God.

This happened in the case of Charles Templeton, the co-worker of Billy Graham and was a great evangelist. He wanted to have a formal degree, to “know” more about Christianity, ended up in the liberal mainline bible college and said farewell to God.

In the end, we would never know whether Templeton would have made it to heaven or went to hell eternal. But what is for sure was that a ministry which could have bought tens of thousands of souls into the kingdom of God was violently aborted.

There are many Evangelicals debating whether once saved, always saved and safe, but the fact that they are debating and is so concerned means that they are definitely saved. We are made to debate this red herring argument when all around us, there are so few believing Christians, only a few percentage of Christians in many Asian countries. We should instead put on the helmet of salvation to do battle for the Kingdom. The fiery darts of Satan has distracted and confused the body of Christ with inward doubt in their eternal salvation so that it is not focused to the outward spiritual warfare of extending the Kingdom of God.

At best, the doubt in our eternal salvation stumbles us, and make us confessed our sins constantly as if they are not forgiven in Christ. At worst, it makes us legalistic and focused on works and the law rather than the grace of God in Jesus Christ. This attack comes from the gates of hell because it stumbles our ministry and the Gospel message of Grace. It is like taking off our helmet of salvation and relying on our hands and feet to do good works for the Kingdom.

This question is actually a fiery dart from the evil one, questioning whether we will loose our salvation. Jesus Christ never once asked us this question to doubt our salvation, but affirmed our eternal security in Christ and gave us the great commission. It is the great commission which should be our focus rather than inward doubts and fears of our security and salvation on Jesus Christ. It is doubting our helmet of salvation so that we will be less effective soldiers for Christ.

Some churches called themselves charismatic Evangelicals or even Full Gospel, but when we do not wear the protection of the helmet of the full assurance of eternal salvation which could not be lost, the fiery darts of Satan could kill us and our ministries. So instead of a church of 100,000, we may end up a church of a few thousand. It is true many pastors and bishops of the mainline churches are never saved because they never did believed in God’s saving grace in Christ alone for their sins.

I like the song, Onward Christian Soldiers because it speaks of looking forward and extending the kingdom of God through the Gospel Good News and spiritual battles against demonic principalities. And the attack of Satan starts in the mind. So let us fight the good fight and put on the helmet of salvation for even if we are totally defeated, as long as our helmet is affixed to our head, defeat will never be fatal, and at end of the battle, we will overcome and reign victorious against the kingdom of darkness.

The church will only be strong with mighty power when Christians put on the helmet of salvation because it is His salvation and the battle belongs to the Lord.

The battle belongs to the Lord

In heavenly armour, we enter the land, the battle belongs to the Lord. No weapon that’s fashioned against us shall stand, the battle belongs to the Lord.

We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord, and we sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord.

When the power of darkness, comes in like a flood, the battle belongs to the Lord. He’s raised up a standard, the power of His blood, the battle belongs to the Lord

When your enemy presses in hard do not fear, the battle belongs to the Lord. Take courage my friend, your redemption is near, the battle belongs to the Lord.
