Collosians 3:2 therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

God is rebuilding the fallen church to be humble and ready for the greatest Gospel revival, and it will be a massive tearing down of the church with the Hierachal church, and the Protestant Christian Right and Left taken to tasks for all her sins, with all her special priveleges and rights removed. The church will be judged in the public court of law for her sins of the last 1500 years.

In the late 1980s when attending the Christian union at a high school in Sydney and later at a University in Perth, there were only a dozen in attendance in school, and perhaps a few dozen more at the University. We were barrelling from the 80s to a nation with very few youths that were exited about Christianity. Yet, the church thought that their greatest battle was an imagined gay agenda. Even when great revival and exitement were seen in the youths in Singapore evangelical charismatic revivals of the 80s and 90s, and 2000s, gays were vilified and used for the purpose of extending the kingdom of God in the guise of a cultural war. The evangelical church was proud and self righteous.

In 2010, the founder of Daystar (yes, the broadcaster that hosted New Creation Church) was outed as an adulteror, and one of the many mitigations that he made was that it was with a woman not a transgender!! Ie not gay. The evangelical charismatic church in Singapore fell not because of some imagined slippery slope of gay agenda, but it fell in Los Angeles USA, in early 2010s, with a woman pastor from its largest mega church dancing half naked in a music video gyrating to pagan Jamaican tunes.

To the observant, the irony was that the Charismatic Revival in Singapore could also be traced back to Los Angeles in 1959, with Rev Dennis Bennett (1917 to 1991) whose book “Nine o’clock in the morning” (published Jan 1, 1970) led to the born again conversion of the Singapore Anglican Bishop Chiu ban it whilst in a hotel room attending the World Council of chutches Conference in Bangkok in 1972 on “theology of salvation today” where the the world tried to de-elevate Jesus and linked salvation to social justice by Marxist  radical secularist theologians. But the Holy Spirit had other ideas.

The Singapore delegation to WCC in 1972 was part of the East Asia Christian Conference and included the First Asian Anglican Bishop to Singapore, Rev Chiu Ban It (1966 to 1981), and also the First Asian Methodist Bishop to Malaysia and Singapore, the Reverend Yap Kim Hao (1968 to 1973).  Also in attendance was Canon James Wong who later in Jan 1973 had the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Thus started the Gatekeepers whom 50 years later wore white against the pink dot.

Ironically, it was Rev Yap Kim Hao who had warned against speaking in tongues in the earlier ACS Tower Revival in 1973 with the Methodist Message carrying a four part series on “Methodist and the Charismatic Movement” against this revival from Oct 74 to Jan 1975. But the revival had over took Singapore and he left to become head of the liberal Christian Conference Asia (1973 to 1985).

LA was also the location of the Azusa Street revival in LA which ended in 1915. And 100 years later, gay marriage was legalised in the US in 2015. The first public gay marriage ceremony in the US reported by Times had happened 47 years earlier in LA in 1968. The year 2015 was also the year the court cases surrounding a mega church in Singapore ended for the Cross over into LA for marketplace evangelism through pop music. This should not be the way to get the world exited about Christianity.

So after 100 years of Azusa St revival, the church sents back her best, of a woman popstar pastor gyrating half naked to pagan Jamaican tunes using church money for these most needed of church purposes. The evangelical charismatics in Singapore had been the most vocal anti gay movement in the entire Anglican Church movement worldwide through Choices and Sy Royers. Gays become the sacrificial scapegoat or innocent lamb for the church even through straight adultery were rampant with more than 10,000 abortions each year in Sungapore. When we put our sins on others, it makes us self righteous and after 5 decades, you could become very proud and extremely self righteous until wearing white.

One of the most intriguing verses in the bible are

Matt 5:14 ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Matt 5:17 think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

For the last 25 years, the light of the church seen by the world  is not Jesus Christ exalted as the only Lord and Saviour, but their anti gay rethoric. The righteousness mentioned in Matt 5 is not talking about non Christians but about the Christian Church who sees their righteousness from abiding by the law ie not exceeding that of the Pharisees. Christianity has become the religion of the Pharisees of deep hypocrisy using the law to condemn the innocent whilst breaking the law themselves including the big businesses camped at the temple trying to make money out of God through prosperity theology.

God is not into our Sunday worship proclaiming that we are worshiping the divine, or a God of many names, or praying to Mary and the Saints. The name of of His Son, Jesus Christ is relegated. He is not even interested in mega church and Televangelists living in large palaces as if this is the light shown to the world.

What is the light of the Church to the world? The light is in elevating Jesus Christ as the Truth and the Life but the church has hid the light, and now proclaim darkness such as the right to cause harm to the innocent eg abortion or by sucking money from the needy through prosperity theology whilst making themselves ultra rich, or by leading the masses to praying to the Saints, the church hierachal or Mary to reach God, or even insisting that Israel be boycotted lest it join back again with Jerusalem as her capital.

Why does Matt 5 proclaim that the law shall not pass away? Because the law will judge the church and find it wanting unless our righteousness and salvation is truly in Christ fulfilling the law being the light of the world. The manner in which we proclaim the light reflects our righteousness. The light is not in the law, even in the love commandments. The light is Jesus Christ, who fulfils the demands of the law and the prophets.

One of the most shocking imaginary is the Gatekeepers wearing white against gays. Why? Because they are elevating the religious law, ie the Ten commandments and saying that they are white by their own self righteousness. Secondly, they are reducing the measure of judgement. The bible has a secondary law which is that the measure you judged will be judged against you. Since, gays are not mentioned in the Ten Commandments, it means that the crusade against gays by the church as sinners, will result in the church being judged by the absolute letter of the law.

Why did Hitler, a type of anti christ tried to kill all the gays, in addition to all the Jews? Because gays and gay marriage are end time markers. In 1517, the Reformation started, with 2 most important percepts, Sola Fide and Sola Gratia. Then started an anti gay movement by King Henry VIII with the Buggery act. Gay marriage was legalised in 2015. After 7 years, all the events mentioned by the churches that would have happened once gay marriage has been legalised did not happen at all including the breakdown of straight marriage.

The church will be humbled. It will loose all her special rights and her sins and hypocrisy be revealed in the light. But out of the fall, comes a church that is humble whose righteousness is in the risen Christ alone.

The church is liable for 500 years of denying basic rights for gays through false witness. The fight against gay marriage has become the light that defined the church by which it will fall. When it falls, it will return back to the two great foundation of Christianity of the 1517 Reformation, the Grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ as God, Saviour, and resurrected Lord, the  Way, the Truth, the Rock by which the church will be rebuilt to a church that is humble and meek.

Lift Jesus higher. Lift Jesus higher. Lift Him up for the world to see. He said if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.

The word of God to the Christian church in Singapore is Be Humble, for I Am meek and humble, the gentle lamb of God.
