We are all naked and fallen

Gen 3.7 then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realised they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

When sin entered into mankind, the focus of Adam and Eve was suddenly about themselves, they felt shame, and a sin conscience came in, aware that they are under judgement from God.

The history of ages is of mankind trying to cover themselves and to return to Eden. But we are really all naked and fallen and our progressive liberal christian knowledge can never save us.  For God has planned for our return in the redemptive grace through His Son Jesus Christ.

Faith comes by hearing the word about Christ

Rom 10.13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Rom 10.16 but not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says ‘lord, who has believed our message’

Rom 10.17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the word of God.

How does Faith cometh? In Romans 10:17, the word of God here is Christos which is the word of Christ and not theos. Therefore, it is about hearing of the revelation of Christ as the Saviour, the Good News when we call upon the Lord accepting by faith that we in our flesh cannot save ourselves.

We call ourselves “People of Faith”, but really, in the bible context, it is Faith in the Good News that Jesus Saves, and not simply faith in God the Creator per say. The world has many anti-Christ, but not anti-God.

All truths

Some Christians insist that no church has a monopoly on truth but then goes on to dish blibical christianity with higher critical methods and create their own theological construction of salvation on earth and not in heaven based on their own carnal image and put on the Christian label on it. light, knowledge and glory

2 Cor 4:16 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Mankind seeks after light, glory, and knowledge. For the Romans conquered nations for the glory of Rome. The Greeks sought knowledge and the Jewish pharisees sought the light. Therefore, people of faith will light candles symbolising their way to God, their own way of peace, holiness and righteousness. But alas, finds only darkness. For the darkness is too thick and their man-made light could not overcome it. Continue reading

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit

Matt 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

In front of a thousand throng of poor, sick, and needy people in the middle of the desert, Jesus said something amazing. He didn’t say blessed are you because you are poor, but blessed are poor in the spirit. Jesus did not preach the preferential treatment of the poor by the Liberals, He said blessed are you when you know that you could not help yourself, understanding that the weakness in ourselves and knowing that by our own efforts and works of flesh we can never help ourselves.

Jesus didn’t go to the poor to preach the Gospel. It was the poor who came to Him. The religious pharisees were in the city, in the temples. The elites would be discussing the issues of the law. Liberal theologians have made Christianity their own theological construction which is flesh centered, ie who God is, is based on their own theological construction. They have made God their own image of political and social activism and put a Christian label on it to give it credibility. Christianity is about Jesus. It is His coming as God and Saviour. Our theological construction doesn’t negate the truth – the finished works of the Cross. Continue reading

A prayer for revival again

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

The battle for revival is not a battle against people but against the forces of darkness standing on the finished work of Jesus Christ. For if we want to take a city, we need to bind the strong man and the false doctrines which deny Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. When we corrupt the word, corruption will come to our faith and at the end of life, we will be found outside the kingdom of God. All our works of wood and hay will be burned away with nothing left.

In the 50’s and 60’s, was a time when the liberal christianity was rising but growth limited for the word was corrupted. The evangelicals were in minority and the pentecostals rare. But by the late 80’s the Charismatic revival has all but diminished the influence of the liberals represented by the CCA and WCC.

Revive Us Again

Ps 85: 6,7 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, And grant us Your salvation.

Ps 85: 9, 10 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.

One of the foundation for the fear of God is that we will not undermine His message nor His Word but instead give glory, honor and praise to Jesus Christ. We may be like Judas, cheating on God here and there, but grace was there and Jesus did not utter even a word of rebuke but at the end Judas faced a decision whether to betray Jesus or not. We leave Jesus when we no longer believe that He is God and Savior. Perhaps Judas never really had believed as is many in the church even ordained clergy.

I see many Gay friends who had been fervent Christians, but when they came out as a Gay person, they changed because the inner conflicts of their sexual orientation came like a hurricane to push them off the rock of Jesus Christ. It is like a good seed planted on good soil but without the deep roots of faith that is anchored on Jesus. Instead, they became great antagonists of  bible believing and spirit filled Christianity because of the hurt and condemnation they had experienced from the zealous pharisees in the churches. Pink dot 2017 freedom to love stolen

The Straitstimes Singapore reported both young and old S’poreans and PR’s had attended a colorful Pink Dot 2017 at the Speaker’s Corner, Hong Lim Park. But older gay S’poreans were rare indeed at the event.

Apart from the few old time activist straight alies, it was a young pink dot who put on the Rainbow lights in the night display. Those over 45 were absent by enlarge. So it was a picnic outing for young S’poreans, the Y and Z generations. Continue reading
