Ps 85: 6,7 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, And grant us Your salvation.
Ps 85: 9, 10 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
One of the foundation for the fear of God is that we will not undermine His message nor His Word but instead give glory, honor and praise to Jesus Christ. We may be like Judas, cheating on God here and there, but grace was there and Jesus did not utter even a word of rebuke but at the end Judas faced a decision whether to betray Jesus or not. We leave Jesus when we no longer believe that He is God and Savior. Perhaps Judas never really had believed as is many in the church even ordained clergy.
I see many Gay friends who had been fervent Christians, but when they came out as a Gay person, they changed because the inner conflicts of their sexual orientation came like a hurricane to push them off the rock of Jesus Christ. It is like a good seed planted on good soil but without the deep roots of faith that is anchored on Jesus. Instead, they became great antagonists of bible believing and spirit filled Christianity because of the hurt and condemnation they had experienced from the zealous pharisees in the churches.
