Gay Marriage Legal 26 June 2015

Micah 6:8 He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

June 26, 2015 is destined to become Pride Day, the day when the US Supreme Court legalize gay marriage.

At the end of the day, it was not just to give marriage to straight people and not gay people. Neither, did the church do mercy to give room that some people are not born straight but are born gay. Because we have not walked humbly before God nor realised it is all by His grace in Christ Jesus and not by our righteousness. Continue reading

Wear White will loose 2015

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Love Singapore and FCBC came out with 6,000 wearing white at Suntec and Marine Parade in order to oppose Pink Dot 2015. This was much lower than the Pink Dot numbers of 28,000.

By next year, Pink Dot 2016, they may want to wear white again but the churches may then have their own moral issues to deal with pertaining to the corruption cases of the mega churches in moral issues involving Hollywood exploits into the hedonistic dance world. Continue reading

Pink Dot 2015

Rev 10:1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.

PinkDot 2015 was a historic event with over 28,000 in attendance. Hitherto, the churches have been praying for heavy rain to come to disrupt the event. Love Singapore will be wearing white today

Instead of the heavy rain, there was the cloud by day from the days of Israel to block from the harshness at the day heat. In the evening, there came an unusual sight of slightly pink clouds. When the time for countdown, there was a very slight drizzle, just enough for a freshing touch without needing to put on the umbrella. God was indeed with His people at Pink Dot in the desert. Come Holy Spirit

Acts 2: 1When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

When the Holy Spirit came back after Jesus death and resurrection, it was havoc. Often, I am afraid of the Holy Spirit because He leads me out of my comfort zone. But without the Holy Spirit we become Fatherless because He brings us the spirit of sonship.

When we give Him space, the Holy Spirit leads us to a greater revelation of the bible and Jesus Christ, His finished works at the Cross. He is our comforter and our champion. Continue reading

Sojourners Goes East

Luke 14: 12 Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, themaimed, the lame, the blind. 14 And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

In the recent decades, we see the outreach to the poor being considered as an exclusive domain of the Liberal Progressives and their Social Gospel. However, the heart of Jesus to the poor, and sick is part of blibical christianity, not that the evangelicals are turning progressive.

The ministry to the poor is often embraced by the evangelical charismatics and Pentecostals. In City Harvest in the mid 90s, we have the slogan, “Church without walls”. Alas, often the temptation of power and wealth takes over. Continue reading
