In UK, in a reversal of roles, under the strong liberal influence, and increasingly Christophobic due to the wide scale immigration from other faiths, it is reported that Christians fleeing from persecution by people of faith in Iran when they converted to Christianity have been denied entry by British authorities quoting the bible.
There is always the danger of using the bible out of context eg when Christians rally against gay marriages using the clobber bible messages. Others could easily reverse it, use other bible verses incorrectly just as Christians do, to persecute Christians.
The long historical and grave harm caused by Christians against gays could not be ignored. it has consequences. The manner you judged will be used against you. When Christians operate under the law, a false witness will result in four times the penalty. Just because gay marriage is now permitted does not negate the sins of the past. It is time for Christians to reflect with a contrite heart to ask for grace and mercy.
We have a very liberal media in UK, which will tend to spin reports of other faiths being persecuted yet the massive and far more widespread persecution of Christians in Africa and Middle East is totally ignored. It just doesn’t fit the faith construction of the liberals.
With a 100 years of mainline Christianity, the Anglican Church in UK is facing desperate times. In 2018, only 2% of young Britons say they identifies with the church. From 2002 to 2018, the proportion of Britons identifying with the Church of England has fallen from 31% to just 14%. The greatest falls have been the 45 to 54-year-old which has fallen from 35% to 11%.
The English church which has given us the Protestant Movement of the Methodist, and the Church of England is literally facing oblivion, the once powerful church commanding the vast majority is now attended by a handful.
However, as mainline christianity comes to a dead end in Britain, thus accounting for the vast falls of church attendance, only the Charismatic evangelicals have remained strong. According to the Times of London, for every Anglican church that has shut its doors, three pentecostal or charismatic churches have taken its place. A classic example, is Hillsongs London having an attendance of 8,000 strong. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (from Nigeria) has now over 600 churches across Britain.
Whilst the Anglican church declines with all its liberal baggage, the Pentecostal churches grew 21% from 2008 to 2013, and it is expected to increase a further 25% from 2013 to 2020. Indeed, the United Kingdom has become a missionary ground for the evangelist from Africa. What a mighty reversal for a nation that had once sent missionaries through the world to America, Africa, and Asia. The cycle has gone a full circle.
The latter rain of the Holy Spirit is coming to the UK to cleanse the church, to separate between the goats and the sheep. These are the end days where outwardly the church seems to be falling, yet inwardly there is renewal and new life.
At the end, whilst UK authorities may be increasingly Christophobic and against the Christian converts from other faiths, God is moving in a greater measure. And this mighty move of God will soon even reach the heart of the migrant communities in UK from South Asia.
Have Thine Own Way, Lord
Jim Reeves
Have Thine own way Lord
Have Thine own way
Thou art the potter I am the clay
Mold me and make me after Thy will
While I am waiting yielded and still
Have Thine own way Lord
Have Thine own way
Search me and try me Master today
Whiter than snow Lord wash me just now
As in Thy presence humbly I bow
Have Thine own way Lord
Have Thine own way
Hold over my being absolute sway
Filled with Thy spirit till all can see
Christ only always living in me
