A Christian Gay Community and Social Justice

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

What is a Christian community? and what is justice, mercy and humility for the gay christian community. I believe that community and social justice are not two separate boxes. We don’t have community first and then social justice. It is in fact the reverse. Doing justly, having love, mercy and humility to help each other within the same gay christian or gay community gives us our community. Social justice is a ministry in the outer court with Jesus still at the centre. The open doors bring people in. Continue reading

The Pope at New York

John 5: 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. 41 “I do not receive honor from men. 42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

It was incredible to see that the Pope was well accepted at the UN and the joint US houses. He is not only the head of the small Vatican city state but the head of a one billion strong religion with incredible wealth and old money.

In the UN, the Pope greeted the dignitaries not the greeting that you would normally expect, in the name of Jesus, but in his own name ie under his own standing. It is a reflection of John 5:39, where the Jews accepted religious leaders who came proclaiming a new kind of teaching on their own standing, yet when Jesus come in the name of the Father, they rejected Him. Both the liberals and the conservatives applauded the Pope so did both warring houses in the US. Continue reading

A Vision to keep us walking

This week in Kuala lumpur was an adventurous one. I got scolded by the taxi for giving a non-existent google map road intersection instead of the landmark. I gave my aunty doubled for her medical because i mistook the currency. Lastly, my wallet fell out spilling all my money and bank cards on to the floor. Surely, God is telling me something.

We are called to be stewards of what God has blessed us, our walk with Jesus, our finances and our body. But without a vision everyday, we will walk astray,

Prov 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

City Harvest Trial – A conclusion in sight

The City Harvest Trial is heading for a conclusion after more than 140 trial days, and the twists and turns more than the China Wine video MTV. During this period of 5 years, we have the background music of Love Singapore/FCBC wear white group being the moral defenders of Singapore but keeping very quiet when it is one of their own.It is a reminder of Kim Davies in the US who refused to authorise gay marriage as a government servant even though she herself is a repeated divorsee, Which is more right? to get married or to be in divorce. When we see the splinter in the eyes of others, surely one day someone will point out the log in out eyes.  Continue reading

Sg GE15

1 Tim 2:2 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

The Singapore opposition lost badly with the overall Government share of votes increasing from 62 to 70%.

We have love singapore/FCBC strongly hinting who they are supporting and also warning all parties who dare to support GLBT issues. Surely, no government can introduce policies without majority support. But playing with the Roman Ceaser is not blibical. Continue reading

When the Kingdom of God is within our hearts

Matt 6:31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

The Kingdom of God is not the kingdoms on earth, the garden of Eden of old when God said all He created was good. When we view the sunset, and the beautiful scenery, we see a glimpse of the original creation, but a stark reminder of the decay and corruption that came through the fall with its many diseases, and death. Life is a Marathon of God’s Grace and Presence

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Ps 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Life is a marathon and not a 100 meter race. We race so hard in life, to replace our phones, to upgrade our job and education, to upgrade from a three bed room housing board development to a condominium, from a Japanese car to a European car, etc. At the end, this is all in vain, for we cannot bring it all along to our next life. Finding the Real Jesus by losing religion

I am often amazed how accepting our sexual orientation changes us, a religiously fervent ex-Baptist Pastor became an ex-evangelical leaving God to find “God” now reduced to religious laws – love commandments to reconcile his conscience with him being gay. Often Religion rules our lives and not freedom in Christ and that is why many gay people don’t attend inclusive churches.

I didn’t have such a drastic coming out as the ex-Pastor and did not have to leave wife, church, and kids for discerning that it would cause harm to enter into such relationships which I could not keep for life. My coming out was a coming upon of the Holy Spirit, who spoke to my heart from Is 56:4 that I am a born Eunuch, born from my mother’s womb in Mat 19:12 without attraction to the opposite sex. I am blessed when I accept whom He had created me wonderfully as a gay person. It was the compassion and love of Jesus that made me let go. Jesus outed me and it has been a tough journey. The Nones will judge the church

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

We live in exiting times with Hillsongs New York fighting off the gay tribe knocking their doors, and even the mega church New Creation in Singapore issuing a statement to distant themselves when Adam Lambert performed at the Star Theatre which belonged to them. If they don’t extend the grace of God to gays, there can never be a revival for the Nones. But even if the doors are opened, unless there is justice in a judgement for compensation there can never be open doors. Continue reading

The End of Life

For many gays, I guess the end of life is when we discovered that we are gay usually at an early age. We try to cover it up as a passing phase, but when it soon dawn upon us this permanent reality, life itself ended with all our dreams lost. We live as best we could.

We do not need to wait for an eulogy and what people would say and write at the end. They may say good things respectfully but the hidden thoughts are that He/She is gay. Continue reading
