From rubble to return

Hebrews 8:6 but now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

We see the rubble on the outside but God sees the rubble within. How can we return when we have always been in the desert. We are in rubble even though wealthy of talent because we have not continued the call.

The existence of GLBT Christian  churches many on the fringes of christian theology nor believe in the inspiration of the Word of God is simply God’s amazing grace. The very fact that we still exist is amazing and a cause for celebration. We have so many broken and bitter people who had lost so much needing the gift of faith yet receiving a religion based on self when they can’t help themselves. Ultimately our focus should be Jesus our redemption and our Justice.

We need a fresh infilling of the holy spirit rather than the do it yourself love thy neighbour dogma. It is an inward ministry of faith, justice, reconciliation, and peace rather than outward. We need to reach a point of faith where Jesus becomes our restoration.

Christmas 2015

20151220_192252.jpg

Christmas is a season of home-coming for many gay churches. A regular attendance of 100 may grow three-fold on Christmas day. It is a joyous occasion when water is turned into wine and we remember Christ coming not in judgement and not only to love but to die. The year 2015 has been a great year for gays with the US finally making gay marriage legal nation wide.

Freedom for gays is part of God’s plan. When we take christianity as a religion of sacraments and laws and worshipping God the right way, it binds us. Religion comes from the latin word ‘religare’ which means to bind. But Jesus, His blood calls out for freedom and redemption. Without Christ coming, God would have remained a mystery. We know God’s heart in Jesus Christ whose resurrection became a stumbling stone for both the Jews and the Greeks, and many US mainline Christians.

Never give up

Advent is a time of waiting and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. One day we will not need to wait anymore but see Jesus in heaven. But on earth, with the storms of life we grow weary and “hope to be home for Christmas”. Our true home is in Jesus’s home. Like the disciples, we asked Jesus, where do you live.

As i look at the young faces of the lives passing by, i reflected at the loss of my own life. I was not really destined to succeed since i am gay. It was so different from the teenagers of today easily accepting their own sexual orientation and be totally out of the closet. Continue reading

kong hee 8 years at changi

The senior pastor of City Harvest Church and the spiritual head of more than 50 churches was sentenced to 8 years jail, a generous sentence much lower than the 11 to 12 years proposed by the persecution.

In a profound way, it is sad. I met Kong Hee in 1990 when i was at university. He was an upcoming pastor and Sun Ho, his fiancee. Imagine working all these 25 years day and night, in prayer, building the many churches, and preaching his heart out, to find that he lost it all. His fame, power and wealth led him to this stage, the same temptations Satan offered Jesus. Kong hee fell but so easily can each one of us without God’s grace. Continue reading

The Church that walk as God

“Do your best to walk as God as God wants you to walk.” Rabbi Steve Gutow/Moses Maimonides prayer for Rev Michael Curry at ordination

The ordination of Bishop Michael Curry as the presiding Bishop of the Episcopal church was held recently at the Washington cathedral attended by 150 or so Bishops in an inclusive but increasingly far left denomination. Despite the cry for others to follow their progressive paths of universalism or face demise, the church herself is on a steep decline with attendance now reaching the 600k mark, a far cry from a few million a few decades ago. kong hee and his multi purpose account

The 5 year trial of City Harvest is ending soon. The accused are guilty as charged. Sentencing awaits. The bible has no china wine made by man’s self effort. It only has water turned into the best wine. God’s first miracle is about rejoicing at the coming of the bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

In the building fund, pastor kong hee often portrayed himself as the leader taking a self less lead, forsaking the church salary, living just on the sales of sermons etc. What he didn’t say was that preaching was very lucrative and reciprocating ie foreign speakers are paid handsomely and reciprocated when kong pays the return visit. There was also the special multi purpose account which was a structured means where both kong and sun was drawing an effective regular income. This was despite publically stating that sun ho was successful on her own account. All was not really a lie, it was just half-truth. Continue reading

We are precious stones bought by Jesus with a great price

1 Kings 5:15 Solomon had seventy thousand who carried burdens, and eighty thousand who quarried stone in the mountains, 16 besides three thousand three hundred from the chiefs of Solomon’s deputies, who supervised the people who labored in the work. 17 And the king commanded them to quarry large stones, costly stones, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple. 18 So Solomon’s builders, Hiram’s builders, and the Gebalites quarried them; and they prepared timber and stones to build the temple.

Solomon’s quarry was a place where large stones are carved out at very great cost and work, and then transported to be placed in the temple. I could imagine the cost of such works, tons of rock without modern lifting tools. Today, if you visit the quarry, there are some stones left behind, incomplete by the workers. Solomon’s quarry or Zedekiah’s cave is a 20,000 sqm quarry near the old city of Jerusalem. Continue reading

CHC kong hee tragedy

It has thus been widely said that the real tragedy is when we are afraid of the light, and if they choose not to come into the light they do so for fear that their deeds will be exposed, as they surely will in time. Judge See

For many, 21 Oct 2015 will become a day long remembered in Singapore where Pastor Kong Hee and five other leaders of the once biggest mega church City Harvest were convicted of serious financial related crimes of over 50 million. It is a sad ending but justice at last for those who were misled by Kong Hee into giving to the building fund with large stadiums being displayed but ended to promote Sun Ho China Wine videos. Who is like unto thee

Exodus 15:11 who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

It was in the morning, and the word of God came to me “who is like unto thee amongst the nation?”.  When we say God is a mystery, unknown, and unknowable, we  are running and hiding away from God and makings gods in our own image. They are like Adam who hid from God. He saw the devil and came to the dark side not seeing the light of God. Continue reading

Jesus called Mary Woman

John 2:2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

John 19: 25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

The stance against gays at the Vatican was confirmed when Monsignor Krzysztof Charamsa was sacked at the Vatican when he outed himself. He claimed that a large number of priests at the vatican are gays and they make good hard working priests. So much for the praises of the Liberal Pope at Huffington Post and Patheos and every excuse given by them for the meeting with Kim Davis, the multiple adulterer. This is not christianity but a religious ideology where we go to God through the Holy Father and not to Jesus. If the the Holy Fathers are gay? Then is God gay?
