The House of God

Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!

At the Metropolitan Community Church Conference (gay churches primarily in US), for the first time the word “decline” is mentioned but framed politically in the overall decline of church going in the USA.  They did not mention that liberal churches are falling off the cliff numerically. Whilst conservative are also falling in percentage terms, the numbers remain constant. The greatest growth is the charismatic evangelicals.

The issue perhaps is how to progress beyond “inclusive” and “progressive”? which obviously hasn’t work. We have taken away the power of the Cross and the hope of glory and reduced it to kindom relationships and gay rights activism on earth. Once gay marriage is achived, what then? Sometimes there is no growth despite being the only gay church in a city of millions because God is not allowed to minister His grace and love due to man made theology. Continue reading

Jesus is the Light not the Law

John 8: 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Deuteronomy 8: 6 ‘I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 7 ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.

Deuteronomy 8: 18 ‘You shall not commit adultery.19 ‘You shall not steal.

In the above scene, they bought the adulterer to Jesus for stoning practice. The focus by Pharisees was the Law, and the punishment and justice if the law was transgressed. Despite what the elite theologians would say, the foundation of the law is loving God and the Ten commandments. The law is primarily the law written on stones and not the other laws written on paper.

Prostitution in the bible is sin because it is actually committing adultery because the men supposed to be married. But where was the man?

Orlando Massacre

The Orlando Massacre resulting in deaths of at least 49 GLBT people at a gay club was motivated by religious faith. Many “Christians” would be in denial claiming that faith is about love even when thousands of gays being killed by faith regimes in Iran and Saudi Arabia. This is not some kind of radicalized faith, but rather common as newspapers in Turkey were celebratory of the killings. Even the murderer’s father was hinting that it was God’s religious judgement. To claim that this is only about hate or homophobia is a sad denial of truth.

The mass killing in Orlando is mostly young people. We are shocked at the lost. At the end, their deaths will not be in despair, for it will bring us closer to the basic freedom and rights for GLBT communities all round the world suffering from religious oppression. We reflect too on our own lives, the many years that we have lost, denied of love, to love and be loved, denied of basic rights, relationships, and family, and forced to live in closets as if a tomb stone.

John 3: 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

A Prayer of Faith for the Gay Kingdom

In some faiths, we have repeated pleadings to their gods, chants that follows ancient scripts and traditions. The pharisees also prayed with eloquence and people would see how good and holy their prayers were. They are educated prayers I guess, but from a carnal exalting self. Prayer is extending the kingdom and power of God in our lives, and our geographical and social domain. It is the extension of the Kingdom of God, the proclamation of the good news of salvation in Christ, that we are bringing down.

It is therefore very curious that Love Singapore does prayer walks around Hong Lim Park to call down rain for the Pink Dot event the next day, when our prayers should be in accordance to God’s will, so that God has a legal right to act in the situation. God’s will is often centered on the good news, and the good news is about God’s mercy, grace and love in Jesus Christ. When we instead, chose condemnation like the sons of Zebedee asking for fire, we have the wrong spirit and not of the Holy Spirit of God.   Continue reading

Revive us again

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

1 Cor 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

1 Cor 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

1 Cor 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

We have many wise people talking about not going to church rather be the church by their own wisdom or that the church of the old time religion is something old and passing away and dead. I have got news for you friends, Jesus our Lord and Savior is alive and has risen, and will revive us again. We will not die and go to dust but be with Him one day in eternity in heaven. Our hope is not in vain for Christ has been made real to us by the Holy Spirit of God.

What is a gay church? The church is not a building. A true Christian church is a body of believers not necessarily in some human faith tradition and sacraments, but believers in Jesus, His life, death, resurrection as the Son of God and the Messiah. We gather together to seek God and to strengthen and encourage one another in the Christian walk of faith. If Christ is not the center of our faith and redemption, we play church whether gay or straight. Gays are looking for peace, and often they find no peace with God in the “church” for real eternal peace comes only through Jesus. Continue reading

Pink Dot 2016

Romans 5:18-20

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

The Pink Dot event was celebrated in Singapore on the 05 June 16 with placards of messages of peace and love for all. The wear pink was a public event with major international sponsors including google. The capacity of the venue Hong Lim Park was already exceeded last year, hence this year the emphasis was on the message of love and truth. But I do miss last year’s pink dot where they had lit lights, each person representing a light in the darkness of condemnation facing the gay community. Continue reading

faith and history about Jerusalem

It is often mentioned by some that faith and authentic christianity is about love. This is half the truth, for true christianity is about the centrality of Christ, the hope of glory, producing the fruits of love, peace and joy. Without Christ, faith per say led by good works and self righteous morality would lead to harming others directly and indirectly falling either into far right or left.

The real nature of the people of faith is seen in the fight over Jerusalem, because it is a fight for legitimacy to be considered as people of God, for Israel was the chosen nation. It is not that God has favorites, but because God chose the least of the nations, that the wise and the proud be confounded. In a way, God also chose the red dot, the least in Asia, and now the Pink Dot.

Indeed religious faith is about conformance and doing away with the personal responsibility by justifying our actions based on religious law rather than our conscience and common morality. The condemnation of gays is based on fear because it brings us back to the religions of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah where the pagan religious practices demanded the men to have sex with the priest to join themselves with demonic beings. God’s imperfect Red Dots

When gay christian friends from Taiwan visited Singapore, they didn’t go to the gay church but straight to City Harvest Church to my annoyance. There was a revival in their hearts and they wanted to catch the spirit of City Harvest despite all the negative happenings.

Perhaps this is expected when gay christian pastors declare their manifesto of “I do not believe….”, indirectly denying God’s redemption through Israel and the Jesus Christ as Messiah. God is not perturbed by the false image of God based on self, nor the “I” repeated many times with many facebook “likes”. Nothing new. The entire Christian faith was actually usurped when Constantine took over even though the gates of hades never fully prevailed. Continue reading

The real truth of the prodigal Son

Luke 15.21, Father I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son

Luke 15.32 it was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.

The story of the prodigal son is a story about the Kingdom of God. Many bible college graduates and pastors kept repeating their mantra about the love of God, the inclusive nature of God to receive all Peoples of faith, and lastly God working through our kindoms to the community where we are ministering to others becomes ministering and seeing God. But really, the kingdom of God works rather differently. Often we try to replace the kingdom by the kindom not realising that just like the prodigal son, we are lost without Christ. We should celebrate the salvation in Jesus Christ, the coming back into the kingdom rather than the distorted and narrow ways of the ecumenical bodies.

The story of prodigal son is not really about the son or the father but about the Kingdom of God and the return to the kingdom. Are we dead or alive, are we lost or found? It is not our works that matters but where we are and whose we belong to. When Gay churches don’t preach a kingdom message, they are denying gay people the embrace of a loving Father God.

When the son turned back, repented and returned to the kingdom, the blood of the lamb was applied to his heart for the forgiveness of sin. What he did was remembered no more. So are we when we are in Christ, all our sins are washed away, as if we had never left the Kingdom of God. The celebration was to celebrate the complete forgiveness and restoration into the kingdom, ie the communion table of wine and bread, of the body and blood of Christ. Continue reading

The veil of God is broken

It is God’s amazing grace to enter into the throne room of God, our being on earth, yet our spirit in heavenly realms. It is the Holy Spirit that leads us on, taking us there, revealing Christ in the bible, the light of the menorah, the golden lamp stand pointing inwardly to reflect  Jesus Christ for He alone is worthy.

Rev 5.12 in a loud voice, they were saying “worthy is the lamb” who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise

The amazing thing about Christianity is that it was a story foretold over and over again in the stars, in the religious sacrifices, and in all the setup of the temple. At the end only Christ is worthy, all others are imposters thinking that they are worthy. There are incredible deceptions and deep darkness even in churches, trying to undermine the holiness of God and the centrality of Christ. But the law of God will never pass away in that there will always be judgement for our sins and necessity for redemption. It is our conscience who will condemns us despite our intellect trying to tell us otherwise. Continue reading
